On April 20, 2024, my family and I had to go through a tragedy that unfortunately, many families still must face. After battling most of his adult life with his mental health, my father, Andy, took his own life. Seeing first-hand the pain of both unresolved mental health problems and alcoholism in my father, I have decided to partner with the FaceIt Foundation to help combat the negative stigma men face each day regarding mental illness.<\/p>\n
After losing my father, the pain I felt inspired me to become part of the movement to end the negative stigma around men\u2019s mental health and be part of a support system that helps to reduce the suicide rate. Through the creation of local support groups and by making other resources accessible for all who need them, my goal is to help others avoid the pain of losing a loved one to suicide.<\/p>\n
By donating, not only are you supporting the movement to end the negative stigma around men\u2019s mental health and suicide, but you are providing hope. You are providing hope to parents, siblings, spouses, children, and friends who have lost someone they love. If you cannot give, I encourage you to reach out to your loved ones and provide a listening ear and a welcoming heart so that together we can overcome mental illness.<\/p>\n
